Dear Friends and Family,
As most of you know, one of my passions has always been helping our kids. I coached baseball for 11 years while Blane was growing up, coached football for a couple of years, raised money to support youth in the outdoors and have taken lots of kids hunting and fishing. Often, it was the first time these children got to go on a trip like this. I was fortunate to grow up in the outdoors and around a country style of living. Most people don’t get to see that these days and I believe it is an important part of our heritage. So, it is quite natural that I have agreed to help Rodeo Austin with their mission – “Providing Youth Education – Preserving Western Heritage”.
Rodeo Austin partners with Texas colleges and universities, as well as 4-H and FFA Foundations, to provide scholarships for deserving Texas students. As one of central Texas’ largest non-profit scholarship providers, Rodeo Austin currently sponsors 120 students in twenty different Texas colleges. Last year alone, they gave over $2,000,000 to the Youth of Texas. And, we hope to exceed that this year.
One of the ways we support the mission is through special events, such as the “Shoot Out Sporting Clay Tournament”. I am honored to have been asked to join a team and raise funds that will directly benefit the mission. The Shoot Out is a 50-target shooting event and I intend to break all 50 targets. I would appreciate any donation that you are comfortable with to help me reach my personal goal of $5,000 and my team goal of $25,000.
Thank you for your consideration,
